Last year, the Oz published a report that Jon Grayson, director-general of the Department of Premier and Cabinet, had entered into a joint venture called Gasfields Water Management in 2011 with Australian Water Holdings, the company at the centre of the NSW ICAC inquiry.
It is alleged AWH used taxpayer funds to expand into Queensland.
So what we know is that the most senior public servant in Queensland was in a joint venture conjured up by the notorious Eddie Obeid.
This Jon Grayson was hand picked by Newman for his position.
Grayson has rapidly divested himself of his holdings - just as the LNP refunded the $5000 that Noddy charged for a meeting previously.
What's the old saying?
I think it goes something like - "You will know them by the company they keep".*
No wonder the LNP in Queensland is removing the independence of the CMC.
We need an ICAC in Queensland.
